This past Sunday came along with a beautiful and unexpected sunset to end a relaxing weekend with friends. Pink and orange tones lit up the sky and reflected in the water.
I had a lovely portrait session with my good friend and makeup artist Alex at Blydenburgh Park last week! It was a cool summer evening at the docks with some interesting lighting from the sky. She was so much fun to work with and we will definitely be planning a fall shoot in the next few months. Check out Alex’s Instagram and Youtube for her awesome makeup tutorials.
If you’d like to book a portrait session please feel free to email me at email@example.com.
My close friends Luke & Sam asked me to take engagement photos for them and I couldn’t be more excited. I was even more excited when they brought lightsabers so we could take some Star Wars-themed photos at the end of the shoot.
After much deliberation on where to do the photos, Avalon Park in Stony Brook ended up being an excellent choice. The golden hour sunlight was really beautiful that day and the trees served as a beautiful bokeh backdrop for a lot of the shots.
We had a ton of laughs and it was a pleasure shooting with them. Half the time I didn’t even need to pose them or tell them what to do. Enjoy the photos and please let me know what you think!
Congratulations Luke & Sam and thank you for letting me photograph you! ❤
About a week and a half ago before the rainy weather began, I caught a sunset at Robert Moses with some really beautiful light.
I explored all around the area in my usual favorite places – the beach, the path to the Fire Island Lighthouse and the Great South Bay. I also took another way off the lighthouse path and found a walkway to the beach that looks like a road, which made for some shots that I really love.
Enjoy and here’s to hoping the weather goes back to normal soon!
Daytime long exposures are a real favorite of mine. It allows capturing something that can’t be seen with the naked eye. Time and movement within a still photo. The golden light and cloud trails make any landscape look absolutely breathtaking.
The photos below were all taken at Captree State Park in Long Island, New York. Enjoy.
Captree State Park is the last stop on the causeway before Robert Moses. It’s an island that offers 360 degree views of the Great South Bay and is beautiful year-round. I’ve visited the island quite a view times during the day, to fly my drone and for some alright sunsets.
But this past weekend was a real treat – after a day of shifting clouds, a dull sky and the sun disappearing, the sky lit up in hues of pink and orange. The photos below are in chronological order to display the progression of the sky. The weather was also perfect, which made for a beautiful night with plenty of photos to share.

The first of many springtime evening trips to Robert Moses. So excited for longer days and warmer weather! I took a quick walk halfway to the lighthouse on the wooden path, then came back and hit the shore for the last light of the sunset.
