When you go to the beach as much as I do, you are forced to see things in a new perspective. As beautiful as a shot of the sunset over the waves can be, sometimes you need to get in and take a closer look.
I really enjoy taking these close up and extremely zoomed in shots and usually take a couple during a sunset session to mix things up. I either shoot from afar or hold my camera close to the ground and make a run for it when a wave comes in. Getting the golden light from the sun along with a shallow depth of field really change how these small scenes would normally look.
Happy First Day of Spring!
I can’t wait for the weather to finally warm up. It has still been pretty cold here and it’ll be a while before we see any flowers and the real feeling of Spring. I wanted to share some of the Spring photos I have in my archives from past years.
This year I’m hoping to make it to Central Park while the cherry blossoms are blooming and also take some spring-themed portraits, which is something I haven’t really done before.

Hello everyone! Sorry for not posting the past 2 Monday’s. I’ve been really busy and we’ll be back to the regular posting schedule this week. Today we’ve got a snow/ice storm in the Northeast so I’m working from home today. It’s too nasty to go outside. I’m hoping to get out and shoot this weekend so look forward to those photos on Monday! Thanks and stay safe if you’re in this storm!
